Peter Sarstedt
There are very few artists that break out of the norm of modern pop and folk music. Leonard Cohen is an example of the exceptional poetic artist. Peter Sarstedt is the second artist I've found with this esoteric approach to songwriting that separates him from other writers and performing artists. His music is as unique and unusual (and compelling) as the new major motion picture The Darjeeling Limited (starring Owen Wilson, directed by the wonderful Wes Anderson) in which his music is featured in a most bizarre song entitled, "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)." His CD(s) are highly recommended for your playlist.
